The Department of Defense is conducting a market survey under solicitation number MARKET-SURVEY-0190 to identify alternative manufacturers for the AN/ASN-157 Doppler Navigation Set, NSN 6605-01-323-9061. This equipment has previously been procured as a sole source from the original equipment manufacturer, BAE. Because the Army does not possess detailed technical data for the manufacture of these units, interested parties must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the system and ensure that their products are physically and functionally interchangeable at the LRU level with current supplies. Prospective suppliers must submit their responses to the Commander of USACECOM at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, by the deadline of January 20, 2004. Successful candidates may be required to provide a warranty ensuring the items perform satisfactorily for the Army's intended purposes. For further inquiries, the point of contact is David Savitsky.
