The Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center plans to acquire a Cirrus OCT Machine through a sole source procurement under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), indicating that only one source is reasonably available for this contract. The request is to upgrade to the latest model, Cirrus OCT 6000, which offers enhanced imaging capabilities and greater accuracy compared to the current Cirrus OCT 5000 system. This upgrade is critical for maintaining compatibility with previous systems (Cirrus 4000 and 5000) to ensure continuity in patient data and disease progression tracking, which affects potentially thousands of veterans. The equipment is intended for use by both Optometry and Ophthalmology services, emphasizing its role in improving clinical efficiency and diagnostic precision. The contract falls under NAICS code 335999 with a small business size standard of 500. Although the Department intends to negotiate solely with Corps Biologics LLC, the notice invites other interested parties to express their capability to compete by a specified deadline. This input will help the government decide whether to open the procurement to competition, though no solicitation is currently available. All inquiries and capability statements must be submitted via email to the designated contract specialist, Tiera Sims. The government reserves the right to proceed without competition based on the responses received.
