AI Contract Overview

The contract involves the procurement of five units of a special purpose cable identified by NSN 1H-6145-015376647-X3 with technical data package version 003. Deliveries are to be made to two Department of Defense logistics distribution centers located in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, and Tracy, California, with final issuance to DCX-Chol Enterprises Inc. in Bell Gardens, California. The Government intends to negotiate exclusively with a single source and is not soliciting competitive quotes at this stage, although interested parties are invited to express their interest and capability to fulfill the requirement within a specified timeframe. The government maintains rights to the complete technical data package, which includes no restrictions on data, engineering, tooling, or manufacturing processes. This allows the contract to be a candidate for full and open competition, which differs from other acquisition routes that may limit competition due to inadequate technical data. The notice emphasizes that responses received before contract award will be evaluated but does not guarantee competition will be initiated. Interested parties can access relevant military and federal specifications, qualified product lists, and other standardized documents through the DoD Single Stock Point and online resources such as ASSIST-Online. The procurement is not governed by FAR Part 12 regarding commercial item acquisitions. Stakeholders are encouraged to contact the contracting officer within 15 days to propose potential commercial item solutions. The contracting agency is NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Mech, located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, with Peter Masters serving as the point of contact for inquiries.
