The Department of Veterans Affairs, through VISN 7 Contracting Network, intends to award a sole source contract to Abbott Laboratories, Inc. for the supply of specific vascular stents—specifically the OMNILINK ELITE and SUPERA Peripheral Stent Systems—required for the WJ Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina. Abbott is identified as the sole manufacturer of these products in the U.S. and does not use distributors, justifying the sole source acquisition. The items include multiple sizes and configurations of the OMNILINK ELITE stents and self-expanding vascular stents, with quantities noted for each. While this notice is not a solicitation for competitive proposals, other interested parties may express their capability by a specified deadline, with the government reserving discretion to proceed without competition. Additionally, there is a separate maintenance service requirement for Alaris Infusion Pumps at the Dorn VAMC. The government seeks a new base-year plus four option-year contract for preventive maintenance of 775 Alaris pump units across multiple models. The contractor will be responsible for all necessary personnel, parts, tools, test equipment, and training to maintain and repair the pumps during normal business hours. Response times for service calls are outlined, including equipment calibration and safety testing. The contract includes training for government biomedical technicians to manage first-call services, with optional vendor-provided training that can be canceled with advance notice. Rigorous documentation and certification requirements apply to technicians, and the work must comply with relevant regulatory guidelines and standards. The contract period for the initial maintenance service is from May 1, 2017, to April 30, 2018.
