Solicitation 36C252-19-Q-0126 Notice of Intent to Sole Source reference: Purchase is approved in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b). The Great Lakes Acquisition Center is procuring the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC), North Chicago, Illinois 60064 Quantity Description Four (4) KREG E-Z Wider Bariatric Chair Bed Frame with Drive & Integrated CLRT. The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to make a Sole-Source Award IAW FAR13.106-(b). A purchase order will be issued to KREG Therapeutics, 1940 Janice Avenue, Melrose Park, Illinois 60160. KREG Therapeutics is the sole manufacturer and only Authorized Distributor of KREG products. KREG is listed as a Small Business on the SBA.Gov website and has no active exclusions preventing award. This requirement was originally advertised as a Brand Name or Equal acquisition. Due to the extreme weight and instability of some patients, the using service required that an Automatic Sit to Stand be included in the salient characteristics. This feature reduces patient fall hazards, and increases the rate of safety for both patients and staff. Market Research was conducted and the KREG E-Z Wider is the only known Bariatric Chair Bed that offers the Automatic Sit-to-Stand Feature. This notice of intent is not a request for quotation or a solicitation of offers. However, all quotes received before 10:00 a.m., CT, on 31 January 2019 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement upon receipt of response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. There will be no solicitation available.
