The Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center plans to procure AlphaModalities turning and repositioning slings through a sole source contract under the authority that allows contracting with only one source when such is reasonably available. The selected supplier is P.X. Inc., located in Pompano Beach, Florida. These slings are intended to maintain existing supply levels for spinal cord injury patient care units, featuring safety enhancements like recoiling side loops to reduce tripping hazards and corner loops to prevent sliding and pressure wounds when elevating the bed head. Standardizing this specific equipment type and brand supports staff training, patient care consistency, and compliance with medical center safety policies. The procurement follows NAICS code 339113, with a small business size standard of 750 employees. While the government is moving forward with sole source negotiations, it invites other interested parties to express their interest and capability by a specified deadline, which will influence the decision on whether to open the requirement to competitive bidding. Any such responses must be submitted at no cost or obligation to the government. All inquiries and responses are to be directed via email to the designated contact, referencing the solicitation number. No formal solicitation has been issued yet, and the final decision regarding competition remains at the government’s discretion.
