This request is to procure twenty-one additional MAC 5500 HD EKG Machines. EKG is short for Electrocardiography, which is the process of recording the electrical activity of the heart over a period of time using electrodes placed on a patient s skin. The goal of performing EKGs is to obtain information about the structure and function of a heart. Some medical uses include suspected myocardial infarction, chest pains, pulmonary embolism, shortness of breath, cardiac murmurs and palpitations. The Government believes that only one manufacturer can satisfy the agency requirements and intends to negotiate with their SDVOSB Distributor, one source under the authority of FAR 13.106(b) access to proprietary information and PL 109-461. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Friday May 25, 2018 at 3PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
