The VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to enter into a sole source, firm fixed price contract with American Medical Depot for the purchase of a Medtronic Fusion ENT Navigation System. This equipment is destined for the Surgery Department at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital in Illinois to support specific mission objectives. The system was selected because it is the only available option compatible with the existing Medtronic Microdebrider System and offers unique capabilities for revision sinus work with a microdebrider, endoscopic skull base surgery, and the resection of pituitary masses. This procurement is being conducted under FAR 6.302-1, identifying American Medical Depot as the sole distributor capable of meeting these requirements under NAICS Code 339113. While this is a notice of intent and not a request for proposals, other firms may submit detailed product information and FDA compliance certification to the Contracting Officer within six calendar days of the publication date to challenge the sole source determination. If no viable alternative responses are received, the government will proceed with negotiations with American Medical Depot.
