The Asheville VA Medical Center (VAMC), 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805 is seeking offers for a heart-lung machine, a device that maintains the circulation and oxygenation of the blood when connected with the arteriovenous system of the patient during open heart surgery; it is also called a cardio-pulmonary bypass machine. The machine is used in open-heart surgery when it is necessary to bypass the circulatory system of the heart and lungs. The bypass machine repeatedly draws off the blood from the veins, re-oxygenates it, and pumps it into the arterial system, bypassing the heart. The contractions of the heart are then halted by running a potassium citrate solution through the coronary vessels. The surgeon is thus enabled to open the heart and make the necessary repairs while the heart is still and his view is not obstructed by blood. J025--NEW CART MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
Solicitation # 36C24627Q0057
Solicitation 36C24627Q0057 was issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 6, for a base year plus four option year service contract to provide preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair services for government-owned golf carts and utility vehicles at the Hampton VA Medical Center in Hampton, Virginia. The intended scope of work included tire rotations, battery water level checks, lubrication of friction areas, and general repairs with a not-to-exceed value of 125,000 for parts and labor not covered in the regular maintenance cycle. The contract was designated as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside and required the contractor to provide all necessary personnel, tools, and transportation for vehicle pickup and delivery. However, via Amendment 0003, the Government has canceled this solicitation in its entirety. This decision followed a review of clarification requests from vendors, which revealed that the Performance Work Statement required substantive revisions regarding the scope of services, equipment specifications, contractor responsibilities, and pricing requirements. Consequently, no award will be made under this solicitation to ensure that any future procurement is based on a clearly defined and consistent set of requirements. Interested vendors are encouraged to monitor SAM.gov for a potentially revised solicitation.
