The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, through its Centralized Acquisition Service for the Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Network, is planning to negotiate a sole source contract with Johnson and Johnson Healthcare Systems for FDA-approved OTW cypher sirolimus-eluting stents. This procurement is intended to be non-competitive under the authority of FAR 603.2, as the VA believes Johnson & Johnson Healthcare is the only supplier capable of meeting the specific requirements for these stents. The notice does not constitute a request for competitive quotes, no solicitation documents are available, and telephone inquiries are not accepted. However, the VA is inviting any other firms that believe they can supply these stents to submit a written notification within seven days from the publication date of the announcement. Companies must provide detailed supporting evidence to demonstrate their capability to deliver FDA-approved stents matching the VA's requirements. Submissions will be reviewed, and while the Government reserves the right to proceed with sole source negotiations, it may decide to compete the procurement based on the responses received. If no other suppliers respond, the VA will move forward exclusively with Johnson & Johnson Healthcare Systems.
