65--INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio, Library Services Department, intends to sole source this procurement to Surgical Navigation Technologies Inc D.B.A. Medtronics for 40 Octopus/Starfish Heart Positioners. The VA believes that Medtronics is a unique source due to compatibility to existing systems and Medtronics is the manufacturer and producer of this item. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 339113 and size standard of 500 Employees to this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within seven (7) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs will proceed to sole source this requirement to Medtronics.
