The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Mizuho Orthopedic Systems Inc. to supply medical equipment specifically designed for precise head positioning during spine procedures. The requested items include the LEVO Premium Package, LEVO Storage Cart, a full service contract for the LEVO device, and components of the DORO skull clamping system. The LEVO head positioner offers enhanced functionality over the current device, enabling accurate and stable adjustments with an electro-mechanical arm suited for use with the Trios surgical table employed in neurosurgical operations. This procurement is justified by the unique capability of Mizuho Orthopedic Systems Inc. to meet the Medical Center’s requirements, as no other manufacturer is believed to provide this specialized technology. The government plans to conduct negotiations under sole source authority but invites other potential suppliers to express interest and demonstrate capability by a specified deadline to determine if competitive procurement is warranted. All inquiries and responses are to be submitted at no cost, with the final decision on opening competition resting solely with the government. There is currently no solicitation available for bidding.
