The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 6, plans to award a single source, firm-fixed price contract to TyrrellTech Inc. for a laser cutter/engraver and related supporting equipment specifically designed for the Richmond VA Medical Center's Assistive Technology Program. This contract is justified under the authority that allows sole source procurement due to the specialized nature of the equipment, which is only available from this vendor without causing undue delay or increased cost. The equipment, manufactured by Universal Laser Systems Inc., includes a VLS4.60 50 Watt Universal Laser Platform with accessories such as a downdraft honeycomb cutting table, a high torque rotary fixture, an air filtration unit, and software, all essential for fabricating customized assistive devices for veterans with disabilities. The anticipated contract award date is between July 24 and 25, 2018, with installation and training provided on-site. The Government is not soliciting competitive offers and requests no bids, but will consider any firm that can demonstrate capability within three calendar days following the notice. Interested parties must provide their business size and ownership status and clearly mark any proprietary data submitted.
