The contract involves a firm fixed price order valued at $120,731.01 to be awarded to Sonosite Inc for their Point of Care Ultrasound System, which is essential for the Women's Health Clinic at Bassett Army Community Hospital in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This purchase will be a one-time acquisition under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, allowing the government to negotiate and solicit with only a single source due to the critical nature of the equipment and existing support infrastructure. Sonosite is also providing a trade-in allowance for older equipment, resulting in cost savings for the government. Additionally, existing consumable supplies at the hospital serve both the current and newly purchased systems, further reducing expenses. The procurement will be conducted using Simplified Acquisition Procedures consistent with FAR Part 13. While this notice signals the government's intent to award the contract, it is not a solicitation, and no formal requests for proposals will be issued. However, other vendors interested in supplying similar equipment may submit information demonstrating their products’ capabilities and specifications to be considered for future acquisitions. All responses must be sent via email, with no phone or fax inquiries accepted. This approach ensures streamlined acquisition while maintaining potential future competition for like equipment.
