The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) plans to issue a sole source purchase order valued at $31,764 to GlaxoSmithKline in the United Kingdom for Sodium Stibogluconate (Pentostam), a drug distributed under FDA Investigational New Drug Application Number 84831. CDC has determined that GlaxoSmithKline is the only supplier capable of meeting the requirements, as no other sources exist within the United States. Potential interested parties who believe they can provide the drug or related services are invited to submit a capabilities statement within 15 days from the announcement date. Such submissions will be reviewed solely to determine whether a competitive procurement process is warranted, with the final decision resting at the discretion of the CDC. The solicitation is identified under number 2008-Q-49482, linked to NAICS code 423450, and the CDC retains the right to proceed without competition based on all responses received.
