NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 16 (NCO 16) intends to award a sole source contract award to Cepheid, 904 Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089. The Period of Performance for Contract Award will be one (1) twelve (12) month period. This requirement is for the products 192 kits of Reagent, Microbiology Analyzer, Detection, Clostridium Difficile/Epidemic 027 Strain, Xpert, 10 Test/Kit, Genexpert, 45 Minute, Cartridge, Includes Swab; Cartridge and swab and 6 cases of System, Swab collection Cepheid is the sole provider and since the products is proprietary. Cepheid is the only available source for these supplies. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date and time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the award. Responses are due by October 26th, 2013, 12:00 p.m. (CST). Responses shall be submitted via e-mail to contact@example.gov. Telephone requests or inquires will not be accepted.
