The Western Regional Contracting Office plans to award a fixed-price contract valued at $62,100 to Cochlear Americas for a one-time purchase of patient-specific implants. This procurement will be conducted under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, which allows the Government to solicit and negotiate with a single source without competition due to the unique nature of the products. While this announcement is not a solicitation for competitive proposals, interested parties may express their interest and capability to fulfill the requirements. Any responses submitted within forty-five days of the notice (or thirty days if the award uses an existing basic ordering agreement) will be reviewed and may influence future procurement decisions. The contract is designated under the NAICS code 339113, which relates to surgical appliance and supplies manufacturing. The purpose of this notice is primarily to inform potential suppliers and gauge interest, not to initiate a competitive bidding process. However, the Government's decision to proceed without competition is not final and may be reconsidered based on feedback received. This ensures transparency and provides an opportunity for other sources to be considered for future contracts involving similar requirements.

Western Regional Contracting Office intends to award a Fixed-Price contract under FAR Part 6.302-1 to Cochlear Americas, in the amount of $62,100.00 for a one-time buy. The proposed contract action is for implants that are patient specific for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all information received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after the publication of this notice will be considered by the Government for future requirements. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this is solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
