The Department of Veterans' Affairs VISN 16 Network Contracting Activity intends to award a sole source contract to American Purchasing Services Inc., operating as American Medical Depot, for the procurement of specialized medical equipment, including the STRYKER SYSTEM 7 and various associated surgical tools and components. The contract covers multiple specific items such as sterilization cases, batteries, saws, and driver attachments, to be delivered to the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City. While this notice is an intent to sole source and not a solicitation for competitive quotes, written responses will be accepted until August 28, 2012, to inform the government's final decision. The contract award will be made to American Medical Depot based in Opa Locka, Florida, and reflects the agency’s discretion in limiting competition due to the unique capabilities of the chosen supplier to meet specific medical equipment needs for Veterans’ healthcare facilities.
