The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center issued a sole source procurement notice on September 27, 2006, for the acquisition of Telemetry Monitoring Systems. The contract is intended to be negotiated exclusively with Scott Care, as the VA believes they are the only provider capable of fulfilling the requirements under the authority of FAR 6.302. This procurement is not open for competitive bids, and no solicitation documents will be distributed. Interested firms that believe they meet the requirements must submit written evidence within two days of the announcement to the contracting officer for consideration, although the government retains full discretion on whether to pursue competition based on these responses. The request highlights that the VA Medical Center will proceed with sole source negotiations if no qualified alternative submissions are received. The contracting officer managing this acquisition is based in Brecksville, Ohio, and written notifications can be faxed to the provided number. The urgency of the procurement is emphasized by the short response window, with the due date set for September 29, 2006. This action underscores the VA's need to secure the Telemetry Monitoring Systems promptly, relying on Scott Care’s unique capabilities to meet their medical equipment requirements.
