This contract, issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs under solicitation number 36C24726Q0532, seeks to procure advanced surgical localization devices that incorporate real-time 3D directional guidance technology. The equipment specified includes two key models: MP2015A or equivalent, and MT2001 or equivalent. Both systems facilitate highly precise identification and localization of small markers (3.2 mm size), enabling surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures with enhanced accuracy and tissue preservation. The technology integrates multiple feedback mechanisms including visual, auditory, and 3D directional data, improving surgeon navigation and reducing cognitive strain during operations. The devices are designed with ergonomic considerations to fit seamlessly into surgical workflows; the MP2015A model features a pen-like wand for ease of handling, while the MT2001 is mountable on IV poles for optimal viewing. Both support flexible scheduling by allowing marker placement days or weeks before surgery, thereby enhancing efficiency and patient experience by reducing anxiety and enabling wire-free, nonradioactive localization. Performance metrics highlight rapid marker retrieval times averaging under 18 seconds, ensuring reliability and quick operation. The contract’s administrative details note submission deadlines and contact information for the contracting officer, with the procurement targeted under NAICS code 339112 for surgical and medical instrumentation.
