***INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE NOTICE-*** Estimated Date of Award: July 30, 2021 Synopsis: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Columbia, South Carolina intends to award a sole source award directly to Hologic Inc. for all items identified below. 0001: 1 Each. Thin Prep 2000 Processor The manufacturer and sole distributor is Hologic Inc, DUNS 015192505. The applicable NAICS code for this procurement is 325413 with a business size standard of 1250 employees. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the Authority of FAR 13.106-1 which states that Contracting Officers may solicit from one source if the Contracting Officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Market research conducted found Hologic Inc. to be the sole vendor able to provide this brand medical processor required to meet the needs of the Columbia VA. Offerors that are interested in submitting a quotation for the exact item shall provide evidence they are an authorized reseller for the Hologic product being quoted. Interested offerors who believe their processors are comparable to the Hologic brand must provide salient characteristics for both the Hologic brand as well as their own, in order to make a comparison of both instruments. This is required in order to clearly document the quoters processors match all of the salient characteristics of the Hologic Thin Prep processor. Furthermore, the Contracting Officer has determined no opportunities for competition exist for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) as Hologic Inc, is the manufacturer and distributor of the ThinPrep processor. Offerors that are interested in submitting a quotation for either the brand name or brand name or equal product shall provide evidence they are identified as a SDVOSB/VOSB in VIP Home - · VetBiz Portal (va.gov). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
