NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 4, on behalf of the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center intends to award a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed Price contract for the replacement of twenty Stryker ISOFLEX LAL 2860 mattresses. The Stryker Mattress ISOFLEX LAL 2860 is used for the previously purchased beds within VA Pittsburgh Healthcare purchased as a supplement to the contract listed above; and required to adhere to the manufacturer s 3 years in orders to uphold the integrity of the 211 Stryker warranty on beds within our facility. The IsoFlex LAL isolates model mattress is unique and offers the three key contributors of skin breakdown pressure, shear, and microclimate imbalance. The IsoFlex LAL system delivers direct air toward skin in the sacral region and continues air flow to the torso. The mattresses utilized at VAPHA equalizes pressure redistribution while balancing the micro-climate of the skin through its highly breathable fabric. The combination of the cover and Open Gel column design, allows air to flow freely throughout the surface without obstruction.
