The Department of Veterans Affairs Bath VAMC intends to award a firm fixed price sole source open market contract to Foresight Imaging, LLC, located in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. This action, identified by solicitation number 36C24223AP1730, is for the procurement of a specific CPU required to operate an X-ray machine at the Bath facility. The procurement is categorized as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 334510. The acquisition is being pursued as a sole source because the requested CPU is the only unit compatible with the existing X-ray machine, which is currently non-operational without this component. Although the item is available through other small businesses via GSA, the original equipment manufacturer provides pricing that is significantly lower, making a competitive quote process contrary to the best interests of the government. The notice was posted on April 5, 2023, with a response deadline of April 12, 2023.
