1.0 General 1.1Background The mission of the Hershel Woody Williams VAMC is to provide patient care. The mission of the Dental Service is to use the electric handpieces to support comprehensive dental care for veterans. These handpieces are used to efficiently and precisely remove decay in teeth, polish and finish restorations, adjust prosthetics, and trim and contour restorations and appliances. 1.2 Objective This will be used in adjunct with our current dental delivery units to deliver dental care to our veterans.
1.3 Scope of Work The equipment shall support restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic and hygiene procedures. 1.4 Period of Performance The period of performance of this contract is 20 days after award. 1.5 Place of Performance The electric dental handpieces will be delivered to the Huntington VAMC. 2.0 Specific Requirements/Tasks 2.1 Ensure all handpieces are Kavo Brand and are compatible with existing dental delivery units and handpiece couplings. 2.2 Provide electric handpiece motor systems capable of variable speed operation ranging from 100RPmto 200,000 RPM. 2.3 Provide adjustable torque control for precision dental procedures. 2.4 Include fiber optic or LED illumination for enhanced intraoral visibility.. 2.5 Include internal water spray cooling system to reduce heat generation. 2.6 Provide autoclavable handpiece attachments for infection prevention compliance.
