36C25021Q0493 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE EyeSi Simulator The Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 10701 East Blvd Cleveland, OH 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.1061(b)(1)-Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The NAICS code is 333318 with a small business size standard of 1,000. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with VRmagic Inc. 245 First Street Cambridge, MA 02142. The Ophthalmology Section of the Surgical Service at the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is requesting one (1) Eyesi Surgical Simulator to replace the current end-of-life system. The staff is currently trained on simulations that are proprietary to the Eyesi simulator only. Additionally, system shall include unique features such as Quad camera optical tracking system, dedicated patient interface (head) for cataract surgery, dedicated patient interface (head) for retina surgery, BIOM 2 retina viewing system adapted for virtual surgery, hand activated forceps for cataract surgery and hand activated forceps for retina surgery Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Monday March 21, 2021 at 2pm. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. - All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
