This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY.  It is neither a solicitation nor a request for quote (RFQ) and it does not obligate the Government to award a contract.  Request for solicitation will not receive a response.  The Government will not pay nor reimburse any costs of preparing this response.  The source s sought notice is for market research purposes to make the appropriate acquisition decision and gain knowledge of potential qualified businesses and their Small Business Administration (SBA) size classification in relation to North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing with an associated size standard of 1,000 employees. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 8 Orlando Contracting Team is seeking interested sources for Drying System for Hearing Aids and Electronic Hearable Devices for the Orlando VA Medical Center (OVAMC). See attached documentation to see the salient characteristics. If your business can meet or exceed the requirement, please provide a capability statement. The capability statement shall be limited to no more than five pages and must clearly state the following: Capability in industry to manufacture or provide the required Drying System for Hearing Aids and Electronic Hearable Devices. Offerors who cannot provide historical information from their company regarding the outlined attachment or similar scope and scale should provide corresponding information to show how the company would meet the OVAMC requirements. This information should provide level of confidence in the Government that an offeror would meet or exceed the delivery requirements to provide the required product. In addition, provide and answer the following: 1. Company name, address, point(s) of contact, title, telephone number, fax number, email address, cage and SAM UEI number. 2. Company s business size, to include number of employees. 3. Company's socioeconomic status. 4. Contracts available to place the order against, NAC, GSA, etc. 5. If SDVOSB/VOSB is planning to provide a response they need to demonstrate the ability to provide a product manufactured by a small business to be considered capable. Submit this information to Contracting Officer, Benjamin Amato, via email to Benjamin.amato@va.gov. Your response to this notice must be received in writing on or before 1:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on August 26, 2026.
The contractor shall be capable of providing drying systems capable of safely and effectively removing moisture from a wide range of hearing aids and electronic hearable devices commonly used in audiology and hearing care settings. General Requirements The system shall be designed specifically for moisture removal from small electronic audio devices without causing damage to sensitive components. The system shall operate in a clinical environment and be suitable for repeated daily use. The system shall support onboard digital touchscreen display for cycle control The system shall support high volume daily usage. Drying Method The system shall employ a controlled drying technology capable of extracting 100% of the moisture from internal and external components. Acceptable drying methods include heat based drying, desiccant based drying, vacuum assisted moisture removal, or other safe and effective technologies. The drying process shall not exceed temperatures or environmental conditions known to damage hearing aid components (e.g., microphones, receivers, batteries, rechargeable cells). Performance Requirements The system shall complete a drying cycle within a clinically acceptable period, generally between 10 and 30 minutes, or equivalent performance. The system shall be capable of achieving moisture reduction levels sufficient to restore normal device function and support long term device reliability. Drying effectiveness shall be consistent across device types regardless of size or design. The system shall have built-in humidity sensors measuring exact amount of moisture removed in real-time. Device Compatibility The system shall accommodate a variety of hearing aid styles including, but not limited to, Behind the Ear (BTE), In the Ear (ITE), In the Canal (ITC), Completely in Canal (CIC), and Receiver in Canal (RIC) devices. The system shall be compatible with rechargeable and disposable battery devices. The system shall also accommodate other electronic hearable devices such as cochlear implant external processors and consumer hearable devices when appropriate. Capacity The system shall accommodate drying at least one pair of hearing aids simultaneously. Systems with greater capacity are acceptable provided they meet all other requirements.
