The Department of Veterans Affairs, through its Network Contracting Office 1, intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract to Olympus America Inc. for leasing endoscopy equipment at the White River Junction VA Medical Center in Vermont. This contract will cover one base year with an additional 10-month option to extend the lease, ensuring the continued use of Olympus bronchoscopes which are essential for bronchoscopy procedures at the facility. The lease is a continuation of an existing agreement, as the previously held Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract has expired. The scope of this sole source procurement, justified under the regulatory authority that only one responsible source exists to meet the agency’s needs, is to maintain continuity of care by avoiding disruption of the current endoscopy services. The government has issued a notice inviting any other qualified providers to submit documentation if they believe they can supply the required equipment, although the procurement strategy is to proceed without competition unless sufficient evidence suggests otherwise. The solicitation number for this opportunity is 36C24123Q0603, with responses due by April 28, 2023. The procurement aligns with the North American Industry Classification System code 339113. Interested parties were directed to provide detailed information to enable proper market research, but this notice does not constitute a request for proposals, nor will solicitation requests be entertained. The contracting office managing this action is located in Togus, Maine, with Divianna Mathurin as the primary contact.
