The Department of Veterans Affairs' Network Contracting Office 16 plans to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Olympus America Inc. for leasing urology procedure scopes, along with associated maintenance and service, for the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. This contract will cover a base period plus four option years, focusing on providing ENF-VH Flexible Video HD Rhino Laryngoscopes and OT-S200 NTSC units with power cords that are compatible with the existing Olympus integration system used throughout the Urology section. Due to the need for system compatibility and uninterrupted care for veterans, this is a brand name, sole source acquisition under FAR 6.302-1, stating only Olympus America can meet the government's requirements in the Houston area. The contract includes monthly equipment payments, service payments, and property tax payments during the lease term. Maintenance, warranty, and support services consistent with the manufacturer’s standards will be provided. The government has made clear this is not a solicitation for competitive quotes, though interested parties may submit information for consideration, demonstrating compelling reasons why competition would be advantageous. The award and delivery are to take place at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center Urology Clinic, with Oney Kelly designated as the point of contact for inquiries and responses.
