The Department of Veterans Affairs Great Lakes Acquisition Center plans to enter into a sole source contract with Guldmann, Inc. to upgrade patient lift equipment at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center. The contract focuses on replacing 315 aging GH3+ motors, including their hoists, hangers, and conversion trolleys, which will be equipped with advanced Guldmann Care Lift Management and Service modules. These motors are designed to be compatible with existing Guldmann GH2 ceiling lift track rails and ceiling lift slings, ensuring seamless integration. The procurement is conducted under simplified acquisition procedures authorized by federal statutes, allowing for negotiation with a single source since no alternative suppliers can meet the agency’s requirements. The contract will be firm fixed price and falls under NAICS Code 339113, with Guldmann, Inc. recognized as a small business exempt from the Non-manufacturer Rule. Interested firms that believe they can meet the VA’s needs must submit detailed capability statements via email by June 22, 2020, for consideration, though this notice is not a solicitation for competitive bids. The government retains sole discretion to proceed without competition after evaluating any submissions. Should there be no responses, the VA will move forward directly with sole source negotiations with Guldmann. The point of contact for this procurement is Susan Pasholk, who can be reached via email or phone for any inquiries related to the process.
