The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing a Request for Information and Sources Sought Notice to gather market intelligence on capable vendors who can supply quantitative respirator fit testing equipment and related accessories for use at its New Mexico facility in Albuquerque. This is not a solicitation or invitation to bid, and no contract will result directly from responses. The VA seeks solutions that meet specific technical requirements including the ability to test fit factors for a wide range of respirator types—such as NIOSH Series 95, 99, 100, and EN FFP1-3 filtering facepieces—as well as full-facepiece and half-facepiece elastomeric models. Equipment must comply with OSHA, CSA, HSE, ANSI/ASTM, ISO, INRS, and JIS standards, feature an interactive user interface with animated results, operate on battery power for six hours, generate and detect microscopic particles from ambient air, connect via WiFi or USB, and include reagent-grade isopropyl alcohol. The procurement is seeking brand name or equal products, with TSI’s PortaCount 8048 and associated accessories listed as a reference. Respondents are required to provide detailed capabilities statements addressing each salient characteristic, including any inability to meet requirements and explanations for such gaps. Additional information must be submitted on business size status under NAICS code 339113 (800 employees), including whether the respondent qualifies as a small, veteran-owned, HUBZone, or other designated small business. Questions about manufacturing status, distribution networks, compliance with limitations on subcontracting, Commercial Off-the-Shelf status, Buy American Act and Trade Agreements Act compliance, domestic content percentages, country of origin, and final assembly location are mandatory. Responses must include lead time information, estimated product lifespan, support offerings, FDA clearance details, leasing availability, and any existing federal contract numbers such as GSA Schedule. Pricing data is encouraged solely for market research and will not influence awards. All submissions must be sent via email to the designated VA point of contact by July 29, 2026, at 3:00 PM Pacific Time, and must include the respondent’s SAM.gov Unique Entity ID and Cage Code. No responses will establish eligibility for future solicitations, which will be issued separately if the government proceeds with an acquisition.
