The Department of Veterans Affairs, through the VISN 10 Network Contracting Office at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center, plans to award a sole source contract to Boston Scientific for the procurement of a Cosman G4 RF generator and associated cable to support the Pain Management Department. The equipment is critical as the facility currently lacks a dedicated RF generator, which is essential for the majority of pain procedures conducted daily. Boston Scientific is identified as the sole manufacturer of the specific integrated RF probes compatible with existing equipment, addressing prior issues with unreliable equipment that resulted in delays, excessive repair downtime, and increased costs. Delivery of the requested equipment is expected within 30 days after award. This procurement will be conducted under simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR provisions that allow sole source awards under specific statutory authorization. The government solicits any firm capable of meeting the requirements to submit written notifications within five business days, but if no responses are received by the deadline, the VA intends to proceed directly with awarding the contract to Boston Scientific. The contract emphasizes that this notice does not constitute a solicitation and no costs related to responding will be reimbursed by the government. The contracting officer for this action is Christopher A. Callihan, who can be contacted via email for any inquiries.
