**It is anticipated this requirement may be solicited as a Brand Name or Equal for the Umano Medical s brand OOK SNOW model bed (bariatric and regular) in accordance with the listed salient characteristics. **


Scope. The Contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the deliverables described in this Statement of Work (SOW), except as may otherwise be specified. Palo Alto VA Medical Center-Menlo Park needs 75 beds/mattresses/accessories.
The contractor will need to contact the Palo Alto VA Medical Center-Menlo Park Biomedical Department Supervisor through the Contracting Officers Representative before any bed installations/deliveries have taken place to discuss bed cable connections. The contractor will provide onsite education to all who need competency training on the beds; (provide printed competency check-off sheets) and sign off on the initial competency checkoffs after training each employee. Once all unit-based educators (UBE) have been trained, this will be sufficient to satisfy this requirement.
Contractor will assist with the terminal cleaning and set-up of all delivered beds before they are delivered.
After thorough analysis, the following needs and requirements were determined by the facility. Palo Alto VA Medical Center-Menlo Park determined Umano beds to have a low push pull force requirement, providing maneuverability.
Additionally, low height, underbed clearance, built-in foot extender, and expandable sides from a single point to accommodate larger patients are all features that made Umano the best clinical fit for the Palo Alto VA Medical Center-Menlo Park . Having a bed that can accommodate all types of patients in any department while allowing adherence to the highest standards of staff safety and fall prevention was key to the decision process and the Umano bed was unmatched in low-height, underbed clearance, expandable frame capability, and maneuverability/Push-Pull Force.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This RFI (Request for Information) is for information only. No award will be made from this RFI.
QUALIFIED VENDOR: A qualified source has the a) necessary equipment, vehicles, personnel, resources and current operations as well as b) recent experience (within past 3 years) of performing services of a comparable size, scope and complexity, AND c) OEM certified technicians to perform services with unrestricted access to the facility during inclement weather, as well as immediate access to OEM software updates. A qualified source also has current and valid registration in System for Award Management (SAM), https://www.sam.gov). A qualified source will also be able to comply with Limitations of Subcontracting pursuant to FAR 19.507.
