The Department of Veterans Affairs, through the VISN 10 Network Contracting Office on behalf of the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, plans to award a sole source contract to Precision X-Ray, Inc., the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of the Precision X-ray irradiator X-RAD 320. This equipment supports critical research focused on cancer, neurological diseases, hematopoiesis, and COVID-19, which are priority areas for the Cleveland VA Medical Center’s research programs. The procurement includes one unit of the X-RAD 320 and several complementary components and services, including dose measurement and control, adjustable collimator, optical and X-ray imaging systems, anesthesia delivery, and a one-year service contract, along with rigging services following applicable federal acquisition regulations. The government has determined that Precision X-Ray, Inc. is the only source capable of fulfilling this requirement under the North American Industry Classification System code 334517. Although this is a sole source acquisition process, other firms with the capability to meet the requirements may submit a written notification to the Contracting Officer within five business days of the notice for consideration.
