The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Philips North America LLC for the expansion of the Philips telemetry system at the South Nevada Healthcare System. The contract is valued at up to $1,003,982.76 and will cover the period from June 11, 2021, to January 17, 2022. This procurement is authorized under U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, allowing negotiation with a single source due to the unique nature of the original equipment manufacturer’s specifications that Philips supplies. The government has determined that Philips is the only source capable of fulfilling the minimum needs for this expansion project. Although this notice announces the intent to enter a sole source agreement, other interested parties may submit their interest and capability by June 8, 2021, at 1:00 PM Pacific Standard Time, but this does not constitute a solicitation for competitive proposals. Any responses received will only be considered to assess whether competition is warranted. To be considered, vendors must demonstrate they are authorized representatives of Philips North America and can provide the necessary supplies and services according to the original manufacturer’s specifications. All communications regarding the contract are managed by the VA Network Contract Office 21, with Dennis Salmonsen serving as the contract specialist.
