Retrofit Washer Disinfector with AcuDose System GENERAL: James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH), located at 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612, has a requirement for the Steris AcuDose Retrofit Kit for 7053HP Washer Disinfectors to support compliant chemical dosing operations in the Sterile Processing Service (SPS). BACKGROUND: The Sterile Processing Service (SPS) currently provides critical instrument reprocessing functions that depend on accurate chemical dosing and reliable washer disinfector performance. The existing Steris Amsco 7053HP washers were installed before AcuDose technology was available, and SPS now relies on eighteen aging chemical delivery lines that no longer meet operational or reliability requirements. To ensure continued compliance with national standards, maintain compatibility with existing Steris systems, and improve dosing accuracy, workflow consistency, and overall performance, SPS requires an OEM approved equipment upgrade that retrofits the current 7053HP washers with the AcuDose system and replaces the outdated delivery lines. SCOPE: The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and OEM certified Steris technicians to provide and install the Steris brand name AcuDose Retrofit Kit for the 7053HP Washer Disinfectors. Use of the Steris brand name AcuDose Retrofit Kit is required to ensure full system compatibility, maintain standardization of Steris equipment across the facility, and preserve warranty and safety requirements. The contractor shall disconnect, extract, and remove all eighteen (18) existing chemistry delivery lines routed through PVC conduits from the dosing room to the washers. Following removal, the contractor shall install and retrofit the AcuDose system on the three (3) 7053HP washer disinfectors located in the SPS decontamination area. All retrofit work shall be performed one washer at a time to maintain continuous SPS operations. This project requires no FMS support, as no electrical or plumbing modifications are needed. Upon installation of each AcuDose retrofit, the contractor shall verify proper system operation and functionality. The contractor shall also provide on site in service training to SPS staff to ensure correct operation of the upgraded equipment. All work must be performed in accordance with applicable VA standards and exclusively by technicians certified to work on Steris equipment.
