The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 17, plans to award a firm-fixed price sole source contract to Roche Diagnostics Corporation for the service, maintenance, and installation of the Roche Cobas® 6800 system at the Doris Miller VA Medical Center in Waco, Texas. The contract includes furnishing all necessary materials, parts, equipment, and tools, along with providing maintenance and support for molecular and viral load testing. Additionally, basic and advanced operator training will be provided. This service contract is set for a one-year period with four one-year options, under an open market pricing agreement. Roche Diagnostics is the sole provider of the proprietary equipment and related services, thus justifying the sole source procurement under the applicable federal regulations that allow non-competitive awards when only one responsible source is available. The contract covers a broad range of deliverables, including reagent rentals, service agreements, various test kits for diseases such as SARS-CoV-2, CT/NG, HPV, HCV, HIV, and HBV, as well as necessary controls, media, reagents, and consumables required for the functioning and upkeep of the Cobas 6800 system. Interested firms may submit capability statements for consideration, but if no alternative sources respond within 10 days of the notice’s publication, the contract will be awarded to Roche Diagnostics Corporation. The contracting office emphasizes that responses should be directed to the designated point of contact via email, rather than through the federal registration portal or interested vendors list.
