Full Description
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to repair, remove, replace and completely refurbish all windows in Buildings 4,8 and 9. The contractor shall remove the existing internal and external window trim and wall finishes in order to successfully gain access to and cut out the existing wood windows. Incorporated into the demolition of the windows will be the safe removal of both lead and asbestos containing material as guided by the local and national rules and regulations of lead and asbestos remediation. Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for the complete and satisfactory installation of the new window frames and sashes, screens and storm windows. The window installation shall include the patching and painting of walls, ceiling installation and restoration, trim and millwork installation, and repair of all damaged items in place. This work will be completed in an occupied building; all construction activities shall be completed behind proper construction barriers as described in the specifications. The contractor shall return the worksite to the Veterans Affairs Health Care System after the work is completed, and all of the required work is satisfactorily completed and signed off by the assigned Contracting Officer’s Representative. The period of performance for this work is four hundred fifteen (415) calendar days from issuance of Notice to Proceed (NTP). There is a 60-day window after the Post Award Conference and prior to the Notice to Proceed for badging-related submission and processing. No additional expense will be allowed regarding badging items henceforth.
