Full Description

The NF/SG Malcom Randall VA Medical Center, Gainesville Florida intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Thermo Environmental Instruments Inc., 8 West Forge Parkway, Franklin MA 02038. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Thermo Environmental Instruments Inc. is the only known company to supply a 6-Stage Microbial (Viable) Sampler (part number 10-800) that includes the following accessories. " 6 aluminum states " 7 rubber o rings " Set of 12 glass Petri dishes with aluminum covers " 115 v pump/motor with carrying case The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR part 12. The NAICS code is 334519 with a size standard of 500. Interested parties may submit their capabilities and qualifications to supply this commercial item via email to contact@example.gov no later than 9/7/2010 by 9 a.m. EST. Please reference the solicitation number in the subject line of your email. Such capabilities and qualifications will be evaluated solely of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. This notice of intent to sole source is NOT a request for quotation (RFQ) for competitive quotes. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
