The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, through Network Contracting Office 6 in Hampton, VA, plans to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract to Immucor, Inc. for the supply of Blood Bank Reagents to the Asheville VA Medical Center. This award is based on the authorities allowing a sole source acquisition due to the highly specialized nature of the reagents, which are only compatible with the existing Echo System used by the Asheville VAMC Pathology Department. The reagents are essential for the daily operations of the Blood Bank, and the contract is intended to ensure a standing order to meet ongoing requirements without delay or additional cost associated with switching suppliers or systems. The anticipated contract start date is October 1, 2019, with Immucor, located in Norcross, GA, identified as the sole responsible source. Although this announcement does not constitute a solicitation, interested firms confident in their ability to meet the requirement may express interest within three calendar days of the posting via email to the designated contracting specialist. Responses must include business size and ownership details, and any proprietary information must be clearly marked.
