The Government plans to issue a sole source purchase order for the procurement of the TLD-100 EXTRAD Extremity Dosimeter from Thermo Fisher Scientific. These dosimeters are essential for the Air Force Institute of Occupational Health’s Radiation Dosimetry Laboratory to meet its mission requirements. The purchase order will be awarded without full and open competition under regulatory provisions because Thermo Fisher Scientific is the only responsible source capable of providing the required dosimeters compatible with the existing Thermo Fisher 6600 Series TLD Reader/Irradiator currently authorized for use. This decision ensures continuity and compatibility with existing operational equipment, as no other supplies or services can satisfy the agency’s requirements. The contract, titled "66 -- EXTRAD EXTREMITY DOSIMETER," with solicitation number FA8901-07-R-0064, was posted on June 14, 2007, through the Department of Defense agency located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The procurement process is managed by the 311 Human Systems Wing/PKBA office within the Air Force Materiel Command. Interested parties with questions about this sole source procurement are directed to contact Ralph Solomon via email. This notice clearly states it is not an invitation for competitive proposals, emphasizing the unique nature of the source and the specialized equipment compatibility requirements.
