AI Contract Overview

The Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6 intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Becton, Dickinson and Company for the procurement of specific brand reagents and antibodies. These supplies are required for use with the BD Facscalibur Flow Cytometer molecular diagnostics equipment. The decision to utilize a sole source basis is driven by the fact that the current antibodies have already been evaluated for reactivity and specificity, and switching to alternative products would result in costly and time consuming reviews. The requirement encompasses a wide array of items, including various antibody reagents, sheath fluid, lysing solution, and calibration beads. While this notice is not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties capable of meeting the requirements were invited to submit capability statements to the contracting office by September 19, 2016. The final determination regarding whether to compete the requirement remains at the sole discretion of the government.
