This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD ON A SOLE SOURCE BASIS using Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR 6.302-1. The U. S. Army Contracting Agency; Directorate of Contracting, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD has a requirement to procure the following commercial items to support ballistic test requirements for the Army Test Center. CLIN 0001 2 EACH Laser Scanning System The intended delivery date for these items is October 13, 2010. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price sole source contract to Faro Technologies, INC, 250 Technology Park, Lake Mary, FL, 32746. Faro is the sole manufacturer of this type of laser scanning unit. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334519 and the size standard is 500 employees Responses to this notice must be received no later than 0200 PM Eastern Standard Time, September 17th, 2010, and show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
