The solicitation number FA8601-06-T-0056 pertains to a sole source procurement intended for acquiring one OMAX Tilt-A-Jet Cutting Tool, part number 303390, along with its installation on existing equipment. The tool is specifically designed for compatibility with OMAX waterjet cutting machines, reflecting proprietary design requirements that necessitate sourcing directly from OMAX Corporation through G&W Machinery Sales, Inc. This solicitation is issued solely for informational purposes, and the Government plans to negotiate exclusively with the proposed source under specific FAR authorities. Responses to this notice are due by noon Eastern Standard Time on January 24, 2006, although this is not a competitive solicitation, and any quotations received by the deadline will be considered to decide whether competition might be appropriate. The justification for the sole source stems from the need for a high-pressure cutting tool that fits the proprietary specifications of existing OMAX waterjet machines, making it the only compatible option. The Government retains discretion regarding competition and award decisions, including the possibility of not awarding a contract at all. Interested parties are directed to submit responses or inquiries to Mary Piper via fax, email, or phone, with all acquisition-related information available online for reference. The procurement aims to ensure seamless integration of the cutting tool with OMAX equipment, supporting operational requirements without introducing compatibility issues.
