Full Description

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on behalf of the Office of Emergency Management in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302.1 that "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements" intends to awards a sole source purchase order to Radiation Solutions Inc. for a two-year warranty extension, training and calibration on an existing ASPECT radiation detector system. Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 6.3 justifies the rationale for other than full and open competition for this procurement. Radiation Solutions, Inc is the designer and manufacturer of the existing ASPECT radiation detector system. The maintenance and training services are not available from any other vendor if EPA intends to maintain the warranty under this equipment. Changing vendors at this point would cause the Government to incur additional charges and down time which is not an option due to the specialized eq uipment that must be running 24/7. Extending the warranty permits a seamless continuity of operations for the government. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334519. This is NOT a request for a quote nor is it a request for a capability statement. This notice simply notifies the public of EPA's intent.
