Full Description

The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity proposes to award to Bioptigen Inc., PO Box 13569, Durham, NC 27709-3569, on a sole source basis, for an external ultra-high resolution (UHR) broadband light source, a fiber isolator for the light source and a general retina bore to upgrade an existing Spectral Domain Ocular Coherence Tomography (SD-OCT) imaging system manufactured by Bioptigen Inc. Competing this requirement and awarding to any other source would result in substantial delays and disruption of a project already in progress and would also increase the overall cost to the Government. This procurement shall be under other than full and open competition procedures in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. NAICS code for this requirement is 333314. This will be a total small business set aside. Any response to this notice must be submitted in writing to the Government and show clear and convincing evidence that another source is capable of meeting the Government's requirements and that competition of the requirement would be advantageous to the Government. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Solicitation W81XWH-11-T-0167 will be posted on or about 2/10/11. If no written responses are received at least fifteen (15) days after the publication of this announcement, the purchase will be awarded without further notice.
