The United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, National Animal Disease Center has a requirement to purchase a STERILIZER. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as Request for Quotation (RFQ) #87-02. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is a Small Business - Small Purchase Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 339111 and the Business Size Standard is 500 employees. This will be a firm-Fixed price contract. CLIN 001: STERILIZER, 1 EACH. The item you are offering must meet or exceed the following salient characteristics: Must be able to maintain a 45 psi working pressure. Must have an interior finish that is easy to clean and hostile to microorganisms. It must have a non-oxidizing, non-discoloring finish. The controls must be capable of controlling temperatures to witin 0.1 degree C, control liquid cycle slow exhaust to 0.1 psi per minute, and be able to handle gravity and vacuum cycles. The controls must be easy to customize for specific operating needs. Because of the critical need for using this unit, a 48-hour maximim turn-around time for repairs is very important.
