1. DESCRIPTION OF ACTION: WSMR has a requirement for a surface mount turntable. As part of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) testing, items are subjected to frequencies of varying modulations that have been amplified to create the specific field intensities required by MIL-STD-461F and MIL-STD-464C. Testing to these military standards is rigorous and time consuming. Every opportunity to reduce testing time and thus save money is explored. 2. DESCRIPTION OF ITEM: The surface mount turntable must be between 4ft to 5ft diameter due location space constraints. The surface mount turntable must be interfaced through fiber optic, electrically shielded, and non-conductive turntable in order to operate in an electromagnetic environment properly. The surface mount turntable controller must be GPIB capable in order to be interfaced with our existing operating software. It must meet all of the technical requirements listed below at a minimum. It must have at least a one year warranty. 3. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: a) Surface mount b) Running Load Capacity of minimum of 500lbs and maximum of 800lbs c) Height of table top; less than 4 inches d) Fiber optic interface e) Non-conductive f) Electrically shielded box g) Controllable from GPIB h) System controller i) Maintenance free j) Minimum 4 ft to Maximum 5 ft in diameter of turntable k) 1 degree position accuracy l) Adjustable speed but rotation speed not greater than 5 RPM m) Controller GPIB cable must be minimum 10 meters
