Full Description

This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-2, for Other than Full and Open Competition and FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The US Army Contracting Command, Installation Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005-3013, has a requirement to procure the following items: (SPECIALIZED TEST) The Anthropomorphic Test Devices (ATD) is a test device developed to evaluate occupant protection during lateral impact. ATD is a representation of a 50th percentile adult male. 1. Specialized Test - 8510 Block, ARS (DTS) HEAD - 4 EA 2. PRO 18K, Angular Rate Sensor, DTS PRO 18K - 12 EA Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other will satisfy the agency requirements, the Government intends to award a sole source contract to Humanetics Innovative Solutions, Inc., 47460 Galleon Drive, Plymouth, MI 48170-2467. The procurement of these items is for satisfying the original equipment manufacturer replacement parts. Efforts to solicit other contractors are being made via this announcement in accordance with FAR 5.2. The anticipated cost of this acquisition is determined fair and reasonable by comparison of prices proposed in other purchases of this nature. All responses received within 5 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchases order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 4:30 PM EST, 8 August 2011. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE FROM MARYLAND RETAIL SALES AND USE TAX (JUL 1999) (APG 52.0229-4100) Exemption Certificate No. 30005004 covers exemption from Maryland Retail Sales and Use Tax.
