NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT The Department of Veterans Affairs, Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), intends to negotiate on a sole source, firm-fixed-price for VISN 6 VA Medical Centers for Cepheid brand reagents. The stations will have a period of performance of one (1) year. Cepheid is the sole distributor and manufacturer of the required reagents for the GeneXpert and Infinity equipment. Cepheid has no authorized resellers of their reagent products. There are not any universal assays that work in the Cepheid brand GeneXpert and Infinity molecular diagnostics equipment with Cepheid 904 Caribbean Dr. Sunnyvale, CA 94080 (DUNS 956711444). This procurement is in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Period of performance will be effective October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021. This procurement is for estimated quantities of various reagents, and consumables for the Cepheid brand GeneXpert and Infinity equipment for molecular diagnostics. This will be used at multiple VISN 6 Laboratory Departments. The NAICS code for this requirement is 325413 and business size standard of 1,250 employees. This is not a request for bids, quotes, or proposals. This is a NOTICE OF INTENT announcement only. Any responsible source capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than 02 September 2020 at 12:00 PM EDST. Responses to this notice should be emailed to Ronnie Gregory at contact@example.gov. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Information received will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
