67--Notice of Intent to Sole Source. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center, Vicksburg, MS intends to procure a mapping grade camera on a sole source basis.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center, Vicksburg, MS intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Immersive Media, Co., Portland, OR. This is Not a Solicitation; this Is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Immersive Media, Co. is the only known source capable of providing a mapping grade camera system and that will be compatible to the Governments existing camera system and software being used. The purchase of other type of products will adversely impact the Governments mission requirements. The requirement is for a Dodeca 2360 Mapping Grade Camera System. The Government intends to acquire this commercial item using FAR Part 6.302-1 (b) (1) (ii). Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later that 12:00noon CST on 27 April 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
